FLETCHER COULD FEATURE

The manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, has said that Darren Fletcher could feature for United in the match against Wigan Athletic which is going to be played on Saturday. Fletcher hasn’t played any regular season match for United in the last 1 year. His last match for United was against Benfica in November last year.

After that, he came to know that he was suffering from Ulcerative Colitis which is a very dangerous disease. He had to miss the remaining part of the last season due to this disease. He was expected to miss the first half of the current season as well. But, he has shown great determination and has managed to comeback much before the expectations of the people.

Fletcher has also been included in the 25-member squad of United for the Champions League. Ferguson said that nobody knows whether Fletcher would be able to play with the same kind of intensity that he had shown in the last two seasons. He got through a very tough phase and it’s not easy to recover from such kind of diseases. The match against Wigan is a very important match for him. He would have to show that his game hasn’t been affected by that disease and he can still play with full flow. If he is 100% fit, he is always going to find a place in the first XI as he is a terrific player.

Fletcher has been playing for United since the last 11 years. United is the only club that he has played for in his whole career. Fletcher said that he had not thought that he would be able to make a comeback this soon. He can’t wait to play for United again. He wants to do well in the match against Wigan and prove to everyone that he is 100% fit now and is ready to play top level football.
